The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce offers several ways to get involved with the organization and our community. Here is a list of our current official committees:
Ryan Ammon, Chair
The Ambassadors Committee assists the chamber in recruiting and retaining members by contacting and encouraging their active participation on committees and at events. The Ambassadors serve as "greeters" at membership luncheons and attend ribbon cuttings and special events, including Business After Hours. Because we are a primary contact for new members, we make certain they are getting the full benefit of Chamber membership. If their needs are not being met, we serve as problem-solvers utilizing our own expertise, that of other chamber members, and the staff.
Realizing members are the "life-blood" of the Chamber, this committee will establish and implement a plan to recruit new members and retain existing members. The committee will research, develop and help implement programs and services that are of benefit to the Chamber's membership, working with other committees as appropriate.
Bill Cunningham, Chair
The Economic Summit is one of the Greater East Dallas Chamber’s signature events. Each year we display key individuals and topics relevant to East Dallas and to the metroplex. Subjects have ranged from residential real estate to the North Texas Super Bowl. The summit is held in October each year, is very well attended and offers multiple sponsorship and participation opportunities.
Cheryl Barnes, Chair

The purpose of the Education committee is to recognize exemplary school efforts in both public and private schools in the area, specifically through an annual teacher award ceremony where individual teachers receive encouragement and appreciation from the business community. The committee also serves as a clearinghouse of information from schools on volunteer opportunities that would enhance the experiences of children who attend schools in East Dallas.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Mary Poss, Chair
Part of the mission of the Chamber is to represent the members with issues involving federal, state, and local legislation and to assist with quality of life questions. To accomplish this mission, the Governmental Affairs Committee monitors business legislation and recommends positions to the Chamber's Board of Directors. This committee also hosts political forums to disseminate information to the members regarding political candidates and initiatives.
